In fashion’s rapidly changing landscape, it’s increasingly vital for brands to zero in on their audience. These days, the chances are that audience is on their phones—and more likely than not, they’re also on Instagram. To that end, the 10 2016 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists (gathered in Los Angeles for the final stop in the competition, the annual runway show tomorrow at the Chateau Marmont) have been tasked with their penultimate challenge: to take inspiration from Los Angeles’s own storied history as the home of the film industry, and show how a film of their choosing has inspired them and the direction of their brand—in a single Instagram post.
