Last week, speculations arose that Amazon was placing a bid for the troubled fashion brand, American Apparel. Once a hipster favorite, American Apparel is known for its minimalist aesthetic—namely, no brand logos and few patterns. It wouldn't be difficult for the online retailer, which announced last May that it would be expanding its private label category, to snap up the failing retail brand and add its selection to a growing offering of one-day or same-day ship products.
